La storia di una famiglia algerina in Italia da trent’anni che rischia l’espulsione perché il padre ha perso il lavoro. A raccontarla sul grande schermo è il ventisettenne regista italo-iracheno Haider Rashid.
Una vicenda che riporta all’attenzione la storia di sempre più persone, che dopo aver perso il lavoro perdono il permesso di soggiorno, ed insieme ad esso, tutto quanto faticosamente costruito in Italia. Puntando l’attenzione sulla figura del figlio ventenne, Said, nato e cresciuto in Italia ma considerato dalla legge uno straniero.
Una vicenda drammatica che parla di tante altre. Una storia che rende visibile gli effetti della violenza che leggi come la Bossi-Fini e quella sulla cittadinanza esercitano sulla reale vita delle persone e sulla collettività. Un contributo agli attuali dibattiti sui temi della cittadinanza e della estrema precarietà a cui i migranti e le migranti sono costretti\e in questo paese.

The film tells the story of an Algerian family, a father and his two sons. After having lived in Italy for thirty years, they are suddenly faced with the risk of expulsion. The father has lost his job and so he’s unable to renew his residency visa. Said, the central character, is his son. He was born in Italy and has gone through school in Italy. Nonetheless the law considers him a foreigner.
The feature film is the work of director Haider Rashid, born in Italy of Iraqi and Italian parents.
The narration focuses on the increasingly common story of long time residents who, after loosing their jobs, loose even their residency visa and, with it, everything they’ve painfully built in Italy.
It makes plain the violent impact which laws such as the Bossi Fini law and nationality law have on both life of the people and community. It brings a most effective contribution to current debates on themes such as citizenship and the utterly precarious life migrants have to lead in this country.

C’est l’histoire d’une famille algerienne en Italie depuis 30 ans, qui risque d’être expulsée lorsque le pére perd son bulot. À la raconter sur l’écran du cinéma, c’est le metteur en scène, italo-irakien et âgé de 27 ans, Haider Rashid.
Ces événements mettent en lumière ce que de plus en plus de personnes doivent affronter: après avoir perdu leur propre travail il vont perdre aussi leur permis de séjour, et avec ceci tout ce qu’ils ont construit avec peine en Italie. Pendant le film on est axé sur la vie du fils Said, âgé de 20 ans, qui est née et grandi en Italie mais qui est considéré par la loi un étranger.
C’est une histoire dramatique qui en représente beaucoup d’autres; elle vise à rendre visibles les effets violents produits par une loi comme la Bossi-Fini ou celle sur la nationalité, dans la vie réelle des personnes et de la collectivité. Une contribution à ne pas rater sur les thèmes de la nationalité et de l’extrême précarité à laquelle les migrants sont soumis dans notre Pays.
